Nestled in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, White Oak Recovery Center (WORC) offers detox and residential treatment for women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. WORC treatment therapies include evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT),eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and experiential therapies like art therapy, music therapy, recreational therapy, yoga, and meditation. WORC offers medication-assisted therapy (MAT) to reduce withdrawal symptoms and post-acute withdrawal syndrome, anxiety, and cravings, which can help residents continue treatment and engage in therapies. WORC provides 12-step facilitation to help residents feel less alone in their struggle and overcome shame and negative thoughts. Upon completion of the program, residents are given written relapse prevention plans and provided a temporary sponsor until they find a sponsor close to their home. Residents who complete treatment can also become a sponsor, which can encourage accountability.
