Set just off Route 66 in downtown Flagstaff, The Guidance Center provides behavioral health and substance use treatment for children 6+, adolescents, and adults. They have dedicated teams for clients 6-18 and for adults 18+. Their evidence-based treatments include individual and group counseling, skill development, medication management, and care coordination. Additionally, they provide caregiver training to clients' support networks. To round out their offerings, they partner with The Genoa Clinic to prescribe medications and help clients manage them.
The Guidance Center has a crisis stabilization unit and a 24/7 hotline for immediate interventions. For regular appointments and inpatient admissions, they can schedule clients in a few days. They also take up to 3 walk-ins per day on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Their inpatient treatment unit has 16 beds for detox, stabilization, and intense psychiatric care.
The Guidance Center uses multiple skill-based and interest-based groups. Adult group therapy options include meditation, creative arts, physical fitness, life skills training, and dialectical behavior therapy. Groups for youth include vocational rehabilitation, family support, anime, hiking groups, and DBT.
As a part of advancing recovery in Northern Arizona, the Guidance Center became a subsidiary of The Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority (NARBHA) Institute. Other NARBHA locations operate in Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, Yavapai, and Gila Counties.
