SUN Behavioral Houston offers treatment for substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and co-occurring disorders in children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. The hospital provides a full continuum of specialized care, including detox, inpatient care, day hospital services, and outpatient programming. Designed to support the unique needs of children ages 6-12, SUN’s Children's Program helps children experiencing psychiatric crises and mental health disorders. Treatment for adolescent-specific mental health challenges includes evidence-based practices like psychopharmacology and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Teen-specialized psychiatrists and psychologists collaborate to help struggling teens find continued, long-term recovery. SUN’s Women’s Connections Program offers evidence-based treatment designed for women who prefer a program that is gender-specific when seeking treatment for issues related to trauma or interpersonal difficulties. The program helps women who may be experiencing acute or chronic stress related to gender roles and disparity. The Women’s Connections program uses CBT in a trauma-informed approach, to promote personal safety and empowerment.
