Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Skyland Trail is a nationally recognized nonprofit mental health treatment organization. Skyland Trail treats each client as an individual and creates evidence-based, tailored treatment plans that include a holistic approach to care. In a classroom setting, they educate their clients about their mental illness and teach strategies that can be used to prevent relapse and cope with stress. Located near I-85 9 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, Skyland Trail Charles B. West Campus offers access to outpatient psychiatric treatment for clients throughout the Atlanta area. Skyland Trail is in-network with most major private insurance plans and offers financial aid to reduce private pay costs for eligible families. The campus features naturally lit common spaces, a fitness center, gardens, and walking trails. Each week includes individual sessions with a psychiatrist and therapist, group therapy, skills practice, peer support, personal fitness, and expressive therapies like art, music, and horticulture. Group therapy includes peer-led groups including topics like LGBTQ, BIPOC, grief and loss, parenting, and substance use. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) day treatment provides immersive care for clients with depression and anxiety. Clients often transition from residential treatment to day treatment, but can be admitted directly into the day treatment program, which meets from 10 AM - 4 PM Monday-Friday. Many clients step down to an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which meets from 11 AM - 3 PM Monday-Friday and lasts 1-2 months. The Charles B. West campus also hosts much of the treatment for clients in Skyland Trail’s residential programs.
