About this facility
The Settlement Home for Children, a nonprofit organization near Austin, Texas, helps young people who have faced severe emotional trauma, abuse, and neglect. The Home also trains caregivers in trust-based relational intervention, a method that builds healthy relationships and emotional healing through trust and consistency. Children live in small cottages or apartments with 24-hour care and guidance. In the Residential Treatment Center and Group Homes, trained Houseparents live on-site and provide support every day. Young adults in the Supervised Independent Living Program get their own apartments while learning life skills to prepare for a successful future.
