Peak House offers a voluntary, ten-week live-in treatment program for adolescents ages 13 to 18, who want to stop abusing drugs or alcohol. Their program is run by Pacific Youth and Family Services Society in Vancouver, and it is supported by the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. They have been in business for more than 30 years and are Carf accredited and licensed.
The curriculum strikes a mix between therapeutic work and enjoyable activities. Many former residents have rediscovered how much fun they can have without using drugs or alcohol while at Peak House, they have said. The program at Peak House is quite organized; it includes one-on-one and group counseling, education, physical activity, holistic health techniques, the arts and music, guest lecturers, and community trips.
