About this facility

Set in viewing distance from the Sandia Mountains and 90 minutes north of Santa Fe, New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center Rio Rancho provides holistic, trauma-informed care to adults for substance use disorders. Their residential facility, formerly the site of the Days Inn beside UPS, features a therapeutic garden and a great view of the desert. Clients can explore the desert area is group nature outings. New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center provides each client with their own room. New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center's treatments include 1-on-1 counseling, group therapy, art therapy, music therapy, medication-assisted treatments, nutrition counseling, and yoga. The most common addictions that New Mexico Wellness treats are alcohol, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opioids, heroin, fentanyl, painkillers, and methamphetamines. The treatments are strength-based and spiritual, but they can be personalized to any worldviews. They facilitate both 12-Step and non-12-Step recovery meetings. They can administer methadone and Suboxone if they determine those medications benefit the client. The typical treatment length is 30 days, and they provide clients with life skill training for success after leaving. During the detox phase, they monitor clients 24/7. New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center welcomes return clients and is happy to work with clients to find food and shelter. New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center allows but discourages early discharges. If clients request to leave early, they will ensure the client is safe, provide discharge information, and encourage them to call if they need additional support later. Although New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center has ties to the local community and accepts New Mexico Medicaid, it is open to anyone. They tend to serve veterans and members of Native American communities. Native shamans can visit to administer rites and assist in recovery. New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center also has a facility in Taos, 2 hours south of here. During admission, clients can request placement in either facility or whichever has the earlier availability. The treatment methods and costs are the same in both facilities.
