Kingston treats a variety of mental health and co-occurring conditions, but their campus and team are particularly skilled at treating trauma and PTSD. Their team can address acute PTSD, chronic PTSD, complex PTSD, and comorbid PTSD with specialized approaches and take the client's past experiences into consideration in finding treatment that works effectively. They tend to use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). As a retreat-oriented treatment center, Kingston specializes in residential treatment over a 30-90 day span. Clients can enjoy comfortable amenities like their private theater, walking trails, and gazebo between individual and group therapy sessions. However, Kingston, also offers day (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient therapy sessions. Kingston clients tend to take these outpatient care options after completing the residential program. The individual therapy component lasts about 45-60 minutes each week. Something unusual about Kingston's program is that it supports multiple types of family therapy, including structural family therapy, systemic family therapy, strategic family therapy, cognitive-behavioral family therapy, and Bowenian family therapy.
