FIRST at Blue Ridge assists individuals with long-term substance use disorders. They provide a range of programs, including long-term, short-term, veterans programs, and transitional housing. Their unique peer-led community model, where individuals with lived experience guide others toward recovery, fosters healing, personal responsibility, and growth. They offer evidence-based guidance and education, empowering clients to rebuild their lives and achieve sustainable recovery, becoming contributing members of society.
Their year-long program integrates holistic, evidence-based approaches through daily clinical groups, self-help meetings, Alcohol Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Crystal Meth Anonymous (CMA). Services include life skills, job placement assistance, transitional living, social services, anger management, 12-step programs, and vocational training. A fee-for-service short-term program is also available, providing room and board, clinical assessments, group therapy, and Phase One activities.
