Set in northern Atlanta, Firm Foundation Treatment Center is a Christian treatment center for men with substance use disorders. They treat addiction to alcohol, benzodiazepine, cocaine, fentanyl, hallucinogens, inhalants, kratom, marijuana, MDMA, methamphetamine, and opioids, as well as co-occurring anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and trauma. Their clinical social worker-led team is passionate about integrating evidence-based care methods with faith-based strength and clarity. Firm Foundation's methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, art therapy, family counseling, motivational interviewing, and relapse-prevention counseling. The EMDR helps clients cope with underlying trauma. Firm Foundation also encourages clients to incorporate prayer and reflection into their healing routines and grow spiritually in their recovery. Firm Foundation Treatment Center offers day, intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient treatment. Their day treatment meets 5 to 7 times a week with several hours of therapy each day to address cravings and underlying trauma and improve communication. They encourage family members to attend family system therapy, which helps build a supportive recovery environment for clients. Their IOP program meets 3 times a week with similar treatment goals. Their outpatient program involves a weekly meeting between clients and counselors to prevent relapses and regulate emotions.
