Costa Rica Treatment Center (CRTC) Riverside offers comprehensive dual diagnosis care in the beautiful setting of Costa Rica, addressing addiction, primary mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, as well as co-occurring disorders. Their unique 4-phased approach to healing includes stabilization and planning, intensive treatment, transferring responsibility, and reintegration. This method guides clients through recovery with hands-on support while encouraging them to take accountability for their progress and apply coping skills in daily life.
CRTC offers 30, 60, 90, and 120-day residential programs in Costa Rica, including medical detox and structured sober living options. Clients enjoy the comfort of private rooms during their stay. The center also provides an Intensive Outpatient Program for Costa Rican residents. In addition to treating various substance addictions, CRTC addresses mental health conditions like anxiety and depression, offering services in both English and Spanish.
CRT guarantees that clients receive an additional 30-day stay at no extra cost if a relapse occurs within six months of discharge. Eligible clients must have completed the program and been discharged in good standing.
During recovery, clients work closely with a team of accredited staff, including physicians, psychologists, and recovery specialists. Clients participate in individual, group, and family therapy. CRTC offers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), spiritual counseling, 12-Step meetings, and relapse prevention. CRT’s 120-day, 4-phase residential program offers a comprehensive recovery approach. Phase 1 includes medical and psychiatric evaluations, detoxification with 24/7 support, and stabilization. CRT’s clinical team crafts a personalized recovery plan so clients can seamlessly transition to Phase 2, residential care. Phase 2 addresses underlying issues through various therapies and holistic treatments emphasizing self-exploration. CRT takes a comprehensive approach, offering individual and group therapy, exercise and nutrition, educational lectures, spiritual development, and more.
In phase 3, clients take more responsibility for their recovery, focusing on reintegration and personal development. Therapy sessions and groups build self-esteem, self-efficacy, and self-respect. The final phase emphasizes reintegration into daily life, with clients designing their recovery plans and establishing healthy routines supported by ongoing monitoring.

This residence offers private bedrooms, an outdoor pool, plenty of green outdoor space, and stunning views. CRTC Riverside provides weekly offsite adventures, including whitewater rafting, trail hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, beach trips, and movies. Onsite activities include sound therapy, birdwatching, and gardening. Group activities and outings help clients connect and practice sobriety in a real-world setting.
