In Plano, they treat adolescents ages 9-18 of all genders who are struggling with eating disorders. Center for Discovery Plano trained their staff to work with young clients of all genders who includes two therapist certified eating disorder specialists (CEDS). The therapists provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and exposure and response prevention (ERP) while also engaging the clients in mindful movement and yoga in a beautiful outside space. Center for Discovery Plano provides a binge eating treatment program called Path to Peace that works to discover a peaceful relationship with food and the body. They believe that clients are healthy at every size, and they are never weight-focused. Center for Discovery Plano treats anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder (BED), avoidant/ restrictive food intake disorder, orthorexia nervosa, and co-occurring mental health disorders. They provide clients' families the knowledge and education needed to understand their child's needs. Center for Discovery Plano accepts most insurances including Tricare. They are accredited by the Joint Commission. Center for Discovery Plano is located in a residential neighborhood which creates a warm and comforting environment for their clients. Accommodations are shared according to age and gender. The clients have access to an art room and a backyard patio. The property is monitored 24 hours a day. Center for Discovery Plano has a continuing education program so clients don't fall behind on their studies.
