Acorn Recovery Living is part of Cedars at Cobble Hill, which is recognized across North America as a leader in addiction treatment. Acorn Recovery is Cedars' sober living program that offers clients an opportunity to receive continued support in early recovery. Acorn Recovery Living continues to build upon the integrative approach that Cedars teaches. Integrative healing focuses on the mind, body, and spirit, family systems, community support, recreation, and social involvement. At Acorn Recovery, clients will be immersed in a structured program that requires all individuals to participate in each aspect of the program including written 12-Step work, in-house 12-Step meetings along with community meetings, morning check-ins, meal preparations, and group accountability sessions. The extended care program instills valuable life and social skills with the like-minded peers for support and structure. Recovery and educational services take place in the context of the peer community. Almost all activities occur in groups or meetings where residents can interact and learn from one another. Each staff member is a part of the recovery community. He/she is a manager and elder in the house community. In-home staff members reflect the values and teachings of recovery and provide the structure and help needed throughout the program.
Acorn Recovery Living is located in Surrey, British Columbia. The up-scale residential homes provide comfortable, gender-specific accommodations. Surrey is a vibrant, urban community that has plenty of recreational opportunities, some within walking distance and some within a 10 minute drive or less.
